Some interesting Stats from the NAR 2008 Profile of Home Buyers
* Median income for first time home buyers: $60,600
* Median income for repeat home buyers: $82,200
* 87% of buyers used the internet. For a third of them, going online was the first step
* Fewer 1st time buyers are financing 100%. Only a third did in 2008, down from 45% in 2007
* Single women make up ¼ of 1st time buyers, single men half of that
* Desire to own a home was the #1 reason for buying, beating other reasons by a large margin
* The exception to that rule was the 65+ age group, who often relocated to be closer to family
* Financial security and/or tax benefits were only given as a reason for buying a home only 1% of the time
